Employment / Overview

There are constant and continuous developments in employment law, be it by way of legislative change or by prevailing national and International law which impact upon the industrial relations and employment rights areas.

One such recent legislative change has seen the introduction of the Workplace Relations Commission. The objective is to provide a singular forum for work related issues, which are currently dealt with by the Labour Relations Commission (Rights Commissioner Service), the Equality Tribunal and the Employment Appeals Tribunal. This process has already commenced by the introduction of a single Workplace Relations Complaint Form for all these areas. Another notable development has been the introduction of mediation, on the consent of both parties, in cases referred to the Labour Relations Commission.

Lyons Solicitors has a highly experienced Employment Team, headed by a former Vice Chairman of the Employment Appeals Tribunal. Our Team has extensive understanding of the needs of our Clients in the employment law area.
